The commencement of the IFC DfGE Training at RECMQS on Monday, February 26th, 2024, marked a pivotal moment in the journey towards cultivating a culture of sustainability and environmental consciousness within the higher learning institutions. To enhance awareness and comprehension of green buildings, over 70 undergraduate and postgraduate students from UoN and TUK specializing in Real Estate, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, and Architecture eagerly embarked on the two-month enlightening endeavor.

In a spotlight, the Chairman of the Department shares how the department has undertaken a significant step in its curriculum by integrating Oracle Primavera P6 into teaching courses on construction management, Civil engineering, project planning, cost control, and more.

This recognition was bestowed upon the department during the University's Staff Recognition and Performance Contracting Awards ceremony held on November 27, 2023.
The 3rd Annual Africa Facilities Management Conference, held on November 16th and 17th, 2023, at the University of Nairobi, marked a significant milestone in the advancement of facilities management practices across the continent. Bringing together professionals, experts, and stakeholders from various African countries and international organizations, the conference provided a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and the exploration of emerging trends and technologies.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, staff and students from the Department of Real Estate, Construction Management, and Quantity Surveying (RECQMS) partnered with Kenya Commercial Bank-University Way Branch to plant 500 trees at the University of Nairobi (UoN) grounds. This initiative is part of the department's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.
