The commencement of the IFC DfGE Training at RECMQS on Monday, February 26th, 2024, marked a pivotal moment in the journey towards cultivating a culture of sustainability and environmental consciousness within the higher learning institutions. To enhance awareness and comprehension of green buildings, over 70 undergraduate and postgraduate students from UoN and TUK specializing in Real Estate, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, and Architecture eagerly embarked on the two-month enlightening endeavor. The curriculum, thoughtfully designed to cover a spectrum of topics ranging from the fundamentals of green buildings to practical strategies for sustainable construction, promises to ignite empowering discussions, foster valuable insights, and pave the way for innovative solutions in eco-friendly architecture and design.
Throughout the training, participants will delve into diverse subjects including the background and principles of green buildings, passive design strategies, HVAC controls, lighting and photovoltaic systems, water and materials management, and the essential art of crafting a compelling business case for sustainable projects. Assignments tailored to assess students' comprehension will complement the theoretical learning, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of green building concepts. As the training progresses, attendees can anticipate not only acquiring knowledge but also gaining practical skills that will be instrumental in shaping the future of environmentally conscious construction.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive certificates acknowledging their commitment to sustainability and their contributions toward building a greener, more resilient future.
We’re looking forward to empowering discussions, valuable insights, and sustainable solutions as we shape the future of eco-friendly construction.
