Welcome to the RECMQS webpage. 

We in the department are committed to equip our graduates with skills and competencies that distinguish them as leaders in all areas of Construction Management; Quantity Surveying; Valuation; Land management; and Property management in Kenya, the East African Community, the African Continent, and the World.  We are proud of our alumni who have excelled in diverse public and private sector fields.  

Currently we have over 1300 students drawn mainly from all counties of Kenya, the East African Region and the World pursuing diverse degree programs at Bachelors and Post-graduate level.  We have a very able faculty in all the specialisms supported by technical, secretarial and other support staff.  Our courses are popular as exemplified by the vast number of applicants.

In delivering our programs we aim at producing holistic graduates who will not only be skilled professionals but responsible and patriotic citizen.  We are committed to the excellency of our graduates and encourage mentoring by faculty and alumni.  To expose our students to the real market circumstances we involve them in various research and consultancy projects where they work alongside registered professionals affording them an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge.  In addition to this all our third-year undergraduate students have a compulsory eight-week attachment in the industry.

We value our linkages with partner universities, industry, regulators, national and county governments who are our stakeholders e.g., UCT, NCA, ISK, AAK, ICPMK, ACMK, IQSK, AAQS, NLC, BORAQS, ICEC, VRB, Africa Logistics Properties, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, and several County Governments among others.  Employers, students, alumni, parents, guardians, and the public are our stakeholders too and we welcome their input/feedback/collaboration as we strive to improve our programs.  Our motto is “Training for efficiency in the construction and land management industry”.

As we deliver our mandate we are ever conscious of the our responsibility to all our stakeholders.  We are humbled by the trust bestowed on us to mould the next generation of professionals and citizen.  We are committed to give it our best with your help and the Almighty’s favour.  Thank you.
